China has denied reports that human bodies are being diced up and sent to Africa as corn beef.
Recently, an unnamed Zambian woman living in China reportedly issued warnings to Africans not to eat corn beef.
She claimed that the Chinese had started producing corn beef with their dead bodies and sending them to Africa.
Yang Youming, the Chinese ambassador to Zambia, rubbished the claims, saying the rumors were being circulated by “people with ulterior motives attempting to destroy the long-standing partnership between Zambia and China.”
Some reports have been quoting workers in Chinese meat factories who claim the measures began because there is limited burial space.
Minging images showing apparent human bodies being prepared for the process have been exposed as fakes from a 2012 marketing stunt for the video game Resident Evil 6.
Youming has called for an investigation into the allegations, and has been promised one by the Zambian deputy defence minister Christopher Mulenga.
He said: “The government of Zambia regrets the incident in view of the warm relations that exist between Zambia and China.”
