X Factor hopeful Honey G may have divided opinion with her questionable rap skills, but Snoop Dogg says she is the real deal.
The 35-year-old (real name Anna Gilford) has thus far made it to the six chair challenge on the long-running ITV singing contest and left audiences more amused than impressed with her self-penned tunes and cover of TLC.
But rap mega star Snoop, 44, thinks she is keeping it real and is glad that Simon Cowell is welcoming true talent to the show.
‘I am happy to see Simon [Cowell] is finally giving real hip-hop talent a chance on the show, it’s been a long time coming,’ Snoop says.
‘Straight up, you can tell Honey G comes from the streets,’ the star went on throwing his support behind the hopeful.
The Sensual Seduction star has even offered to hand Honey a career if she doesn’t make it past judges’ houses and beyond on the live shows.
‘If Simon doesn’t take her through to the live shows, she ain’t got to worry, I will work with her,’ Snoop told the Daily Star.
‘I’ll fly her over here, and we can record a song together, maybe even shoot a video. I’ll make sure we shoot it in the hood though. I don’t want Honey forgetting her ghetto roots,’ the US star said.
